The new authorities of ZAiKS. Development and revolution
After the Delegates' Meeting, at which the Association's Board of Directors was elected, the time came for the final constitution of the entire authorities of the Society of Authors ZAiKS. The changes that have taken place in the structure of the organization clearly testify to the development of the creative industry and the consolidation of the entire creative community.
Milosz Bembinow, a conductor, composer, winner of many composition competitions, who has been associated with ZAiKS for more than 20 years, was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the Association. The Board also included Elżbieta Banecka, graphic designer, painter; Ryszard Bańkowicz, journalist, correspondent; Zbigniew Benedyktowicz, cultural anthropologist; Michał Brutkowski, architect; Wojciech Byrski, lyricist, composer; Wojciech Gilewski, translator; Michał Komar, screenwriter, film critic; Witold Krassowski, photographer; Olga Krysiak, translator; Ferid Lakhdar, musician, singer; Pawel Lukaszewski, composer, conductor; Filip Siejka, musician, composer; Malgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, playwright, screenwriter; Emil Wesolowski, choreographer, director; and representing the Music Publishers Section, Damian Slonina of Rebel Publishing and Marta Zgrzywa of Schubert Music Publishing.
The Board of Directors selected two Deputy Chairmen from among its members, who became Michal Komar and Ferid Lakhdar. It also appointed Olga Krysiak as Secretary, and Wojciech Byrski as Treasurer of the Board.
Toward the Publishers
One of the most important events for ZAiKS was the participation of representatives of music publishers in the Delegates' Assembly and their entry into the authorities. This is a very important step for the entire music industry and the beginning of a new paradigm of action for better financing conditions for creators and their more important place in society. The participation of publishers was blocked for many years by regulations, today these obstacles have disappeared.
The current situation of accelerating the world shows the importance of empathy, dialogue, and cooperation - the need for solidarity in action, and at the same time openness and the ability to think critically because this is a time of permanent change. "No longer a stream, but a rushing river.... In our hands today we all have oars, and we believe that together we will give this boat a healthy and prosperous course.

Chairwoman of the Music Publishers Section
The coordination of ZAiKS and publishers' activities will be handled by Damian Slonina (Rebel Publishing). It is also worth recalling that Marta Zgrzywa, representing the publisher Schubert Music Publishing, has joined the Board. Publishers' representatives were also included in all other authority structures - the Council, the Audit Committee, and the College Court.
New Council
On July 6 we also got to know the composition and authorities of the Council of the Society of Authors ZAiKS. Janusz Fogler, photographer, journalist, was elected as its Chairman. Jacek Cygan, lyricist, was elected Deputy, and Rafał Skąpski, lawyer, publisher, was elected Secretary. In addition to them, the Council included: Czesław Bielecki, architect, publicist; Danuta Danek, essayist, translator; Wojciech Dróżdż, playwright; Andrzej Dudziński, illustrator, graphic designer; Grażyna Dyksińska-Rogalska, translator; Mieczysław Jurecki, multi-instrumentalist, composer; Ilona Łepkowska, screenwriter, film producer; Maciej Małecki, composer; Eustachy Rylski, writer, Maciej Stadnik of Universal Music Publishing and Ewa Wycichowska, choreographer.
Review Committee
Katarzyna Wojsz was re-elected chairman of the Audit Committee. Ignacy Zalewski became her Deputy, Marcin Nowakowski became the Secretary, and Beata Ejzenhart became his Deputy. The composition of the committee is completed by Magdalena Cuprzynska of Abkco Music International Limited, Agnieszka Lubomira Piotrowska and Katarzyna Stanny.
Peer Court
Wojciech Jędrkiewicz was elected chairman of the Peer Court. Jerzy Kornowicz became his Deputy, and Ewa Malcuzynska-Wojna became the Secretary. The other members of this body are: Biljana Bakić-Pawlak of Jazzboy Publishing, Barbara Grzegorzewska, Justyna Holm, Krystyna Kofta, Dorota Kolodyńska, Wojciech Trzcinski, Tomasz Szarota, Przemyslaw Sliwa, Jacek Wciślak, Wojciech Wróblewski and Andrzej Zieliński.
