Our partners from abroad collect royalties for authors represented by ZAiKS, and we do the same for creators of the world if their works are used in Poland.
We belong to associations that bring together collective management organizations from different countries.
We cooperate with Stowarzyszenie Kreatywna Polska (the Creative Poland Association), which is an alliance of creative communities and creative industries that acts for the development of Polish culture, science, creativity and innovation.
In which countries do we collect royalties?
Presently (in 2022) we have over 140 concluded reciprocal representation agreements. Thanks to this, we cooperate with organizations such GEMA in Germany or BMI in the US.
The first such agreement was signed with France’s SACEM – on 1 October 1926. We signed the following agreement with Britain’s PRS – on 31 January 1927. Before World War II, we entered into relations among others with societies such as AKM (Austria), SGAE (Spain), OSA (Czech Republic), STIM (Sweden), TONO (Norway), KODA (Denmark), TEOSTO (Finland), SIAE (Italy), BUMA (Netherlands), SADAIC (Argentina) and ASCAP (United States).
Thanks to reciprocal representation agreements, our involvement in the structures of CISAC and due to our presence in the global system of copyright management, the Society of Authors ZAiKS currently represents over 4 million foreign authors and manages 65 million works. The participation in the network of societies affiliated under CISAC allows us to collect royalties in Poland that are due to foreign authors and those abroad that are due to Polish authors. At the same time, the works entrusted with ZAiKS are registered in the data base of CISAC, as a result of which they receive immediate protection in other countries.
